Hair & Beauty Africa is a glossy trade magazine targeted at key players in the ethnic hairdressing industry in South Africa. It has no affiliation to any manufacturer. Its main aim is to strengthen those involved in the industry by providing information on current issues affecting the industry, sales and marketing techniques, new products on the market, fashion and hairstyles, technical development and educational material and unbiased coverage of events important to the development of the ethnic hairdressing and beauty industry. It seeks to raise the professional standards of the industry through education and awareness.

The editorial content of the magazine is designed to meet the needs of its readers, the majority of whom are professional hairdressers. Its pages are packed with a variety of full length articles, mini features and snippets, containing an appealing mix of advice, information, education and entertainment.

Circulation
The print run is 8000. The national distribution is handled by distributors in the main centres throughout South Africa and neighbouring countries, namely Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. The magazine is also distributed through the Afro Hair & Beauty Employers Organisation of South Africa (AHBEASA) and through direct mail. In total it has a readership of over 50,000.
