NEWS SUBMISSIONS

News, views, hair shows, salon openings, client evenings, celebrities you've styled - whatever is going on in the industry we would love to hear about it. A few good clear photos of your salon, your staff or your models will make your news more publishable and will give you the chance to showcase your business to the industry.

News photos should be sent as:

- Either high-res jpegs emailed to jassy@horsegrapevine.co.za at the size of approximately 1 MB per photo, not more than 5 photos per email.
- Or posted to 372 Saint Cloud Street, St. Leger Village Kyalami Estates, Gauteng, 1684
as glossy jumbo prints or on CD saved as jpegs.

Kindly note that no material can be returned. Please keep copies of your work.

When taking news photos:

- Close up of people or groups is better. A head and shoulders or head and upper body shot is usually better for our purposes than full length.
- Groups should be closely bunched together.
- Lighting is important. If a photo is too dark, we cannot use it. Most generic flash cameras require that you stand 2 metres or closer to the subject of the photo.
- Do not send us photos that are blurred or out of focus. Images should be sharp and clear or we cannot use them.
- Always accompany your photos with a full description - names, titles etc - of the people in the photos.
- We strongly recommend that, if you hold a big function, you invest in the services of a professional photographer. That way, you will have the best possible images to use to promote your salon in the future.
